Talking

Talking Tanks is the MASI speaker series where experts visit MASI to lecture and explore all sorts of different aquatic topics. Presentations take place at the MASI monthly meeting, on the third Thursday of each month.

Not local or busy that night? Talking tanks presentations are also streamed live and then archived on the MASI YouTube channel for members and anyone interested to view later.

If you mean who is speaking, then the schedule is available below. If you mean, who can come? Anyone is welcome to attend any meeting as our guest or as a guest of a MASI Member.

When?

Presentations are held the third Thursday of each month, as part of the MASI monthly meeting.
Meetings begin at 7:30
Presentations start at ~7:45-8:00

Where?

All presentations are held at Jost Chemical Co., located on Lackland Avenue, close to the intersection of Hwy 170 and St. Charles Rock Road.

January - Blue Eyes

Gary Lange, resident expert of rainbows, talks about the "Blue Eyes" and discusses keeping, breeding, and ecology.

February - Brackish Aquascaping

Tyler Wells, of Inland Reef, visits MASI to talk about working with mangroves and aquascaping for brackish and salt water.

March- Beaver Dam Analogues

Christopher Rice, from the Missouri Department of Conservation, visits MASI to discuss a conservation program creating Beaver Dam Analogs to aid in conservation.

April 16 - Big Adventure with Small Fishes

Ingo Schlupp, and experts on the Poecilia comes to talk to MASI about livebearing fishes and their biology.

May - NO SPEAKER

This May, the Talking Tanks series is on hiatus while MASI holds its annual Fishy Bucks Auction and hands out club awards. Members, get ready for fun!!

June 18 - Five Aquarium Models

Ben Van Dinther, owner and operator of Watercolors Studio is visiting MASI to talk about his favorite aquarium models. This should be a fascinating one.
