Darter 2026 -
The Water Cycle

This year, the Darter is following the path of the water from rainfall and glacial melt in the highlands, through the rivers, to the wetlands, lakes, and marshes, and finally to the estuaries, deltas and oceanic reefs. Each issue will focus in on the fish and plants from these broad ecosystem types around the world. We are also proud to be working with artist Nicole Coats, who is providing unique cover illustrations for each issue this year! Get all the collectible issues as they arrive!

Darter Archives

Darter Magazine has been publishing since the 1950s, and portions of our archive have been digitized and made available.

Keep up with the Club

On alternate months, MASI publishes the MASI Newsletter, for members at the Individual and Family membership level. This brief publication will let you know what's been happening in the club, who's breeding what fish, and what's coming next.

Darter Editorial Team

This is the team that makes it run, but the quality of the Darter ultimately comes down to our contributors, hobbyists, scientists, conservationists, and artists who provide us with the raw material to make great content. Got an idea for an article? Reach out, together we can create something special.
