AGA Auction Chair, Mike Hellweg

The AGA Convention Auction is for aquatic plants, freshwater inverts, and aquatic plant hobby related paraphernalia only.
• Sellers must obtain a Seller’s Number (or numbers) from the Auction Chairman at AGAAuction@missouriaquariumsociety.com prior to the auction start. Once the auction has started no more Sellers Numbers will be issued.
• The split is 70% seller/ 30% AGA/MASI for those that are pre-registered. Any item not bringing a bid or selling for $1.00 shall be considered a donation.
• Participants are strongly encouraged to use the preprinted online label form. Auction labels MUST include the seller number, item number, and item description.
• Due to the design of our auction software, sellers can only sell up to 20 items per seller number. If needed, sellers can obtain multiple seller numbers.
• No minimum bids allowed.
• All items must be checked in with the auction committee. Once checked in, no item may be removed from sale without permission of the auction chairman. Anyone removing an auction item from sale without permission will forfeit any proceeds from other items sold in that auction, and will not be allowed to sell or bid at future MASI auctions.
• Proper bagging is required. Leaking bags will also be charged a re-bagging fee of one dollar. Jars with watertight lids or buckets for larger plants are acceptable.
• Sellers should be aware that multiple bags of the same item tend to depress the price of all similar bags. If there is a large number of similar items, to speed up the auction, the Auction Chair reserves the right to accept one winning bid and sell them all at the same price.
• All items must be registered for sale and placed on the auction tables no later than 30 minutes prior to start time to allow buyers time to inspect the lots available for sale.
• Neither plants native to Missouri or Illinois nor any invertebrates banned by the State of Missouri may be sold through the auction. The auction chairman or his designate reserves the right to reject any item from the auction.
• Items may be called to the auction by anyone paying a move up fee of $1.00 to the auction committee. The item will be brought up for auction within 5 minutes.
• The auction committee will endeavor to mail auction seller checks within 7 days of the close of the auction.
• The auction committee, the AGA, MASI, and the auction site shall not be held liable for any accidents, theft, or losses which occur during the course of the auction.
• These rules are not meant to be all-inclusive; the auction chairman shall be the final authority.
